Award winning photographer has a nice ring to it! In November 2025, the 14th Annual Welsh Wedding Awards took place at the outstanding Brangwyn Hall in Swansea.
The Welsh Wedding Awards celebrate excellence in the Welsh wedding industry by voting for suppliers and were established in 2011. Couples vote for their favourite suppliers, with winners announced at a prestigious annual ceremony. I was unaware and shocked to be nominated by my couples, as I didn’t publicly ask for any votes.
This year’s theme was “Gothic Ball”, seeing Brangwyn Hall transformed into an opulent/decadent space, a perfect blend of beauty and darkness. Think ‘Wednesday’ vibes on a grand scale. With the awesome Nerys Clarke playing cello, creating an immaculate atmosphere with her repertoire, and Welsh presenter Matt Jones as the evening’s host, we knew we’d be in for a cracking evening.
I was more than happy just to be nominated and enjoy the night, so winning not only the regional category but also the overall was completely unexpected and a huge surprise! Sitting at the very back seat on the very back table, almost in the corridor, also meant I thought there was no way I’d be coming away with an award. That walk up to the stage twice got my steps in! Haha.
I want to thank everyone for the continued support as I enter my 15th year of wedding photography, a year in which I will also shoot my milestone 500th wedding. I never thought when I did my first wedding back in 2010 (?) /then, that it would lead me to where I am today. It’s incredible!
I’d also like to say a massive thank you to my fantastic wife, who puts up with me and supports me. I could not do any of this without her. Also, huge thanks to Emily Kate Bridal and Ollie James Formal Wear for the suit, and for making me look half decent! Two outstanding independent suppliers whom I cannot recommend enough!
