Wedding Photography at St Tewdrics House – Luxury Moments Captured Forever
If you’re getting married at St Tewdrics House, you’ve chosen one of the most characterful and versatile wedding venues in South Wales. It’s a space that blends historic architecture with modern comfort, giving you the best of both worlds — elegant surroundings and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.
As a South Wales wedding photographer, I love venues that offer variety, beautiful light, and plenty of space for couples to truly enjoy their day — and St Tewdrics House delivers on all three.
About St Tewdrics House
Set in the Monmouthshire countryside just outside Chepstow, St Tewdrics House is an exclusive-use country house venue. From the moment you arrive, there’s a sense of privacy and calm — it feels tucked away yet remains easily accessible for guests travelling from across South Wales and beyond.
The grounds are a huge part of its appeal. Open lawns, wildflower areas, elegant pathways and sweeping countryside views give us endless options for natural, relaxed portraits without ever needing to rush off-site.
Inside, the house is full of character — high ceilings, period features and soft natural light create a beautiful backdrop for everything from bridal preparations through to evening celebrations.

Why I Love Wedding Photography at St Tewdrics House
Some venues look beautiful but don’t work well for photography. St Tewdrics House does both.
- Separate preparation spaces mean calm, uncluttered morning coverage.
- Indoor and outdoor ceremony options give you flexibility in every season.
- The courtyard and grounds offer clean, elegant backdrops.
- The house itself provides timeless portrait locations if the weather turns.
One of my favourite times of day here is just before sunset. The light across the grounds can be incredibly soft and flattering—perfect for a short, relaxed wander away from your guests for some natural couple portraits.
Nothing overly posed. Nothing forced. Just the two of you, enjoying a quiet moment together.

Our friends and family had used Phil for their weddings and when we met him, we knew he had to be part of our wedding too. So much so, we made sure Phil was available for our wedding date before we secured with St Tewdrics House! He’s so personable and friendly that it felt effortless to have him photograph our special day and he captured it perfectly. He goes above and beyond – not just with his photography but with lots of other things throughout the day, and majority of the time we didn’t even realise he was taking our photo. We couldn’t recommend him enough!! Ryan & Pierra
